This stimulating and challenging vocational course is for students who intend to study for a degree or follow a career in the Sport and Active Leisure Industry. This course can be taken as an equivalent to two A-Level subjects over a 2 year period.

Sessions will be a mixture of theory and practical lessons. Wherever possible underpinning knowledge will also be demonstrated in a practical context. Assessment combines observed practical sessions, written reports, presentations, discussions, case studies and work booklets.

As part of the course, learners will be involved in a number of exciting external visits, which include Liverpool John Moores University sports science labs, Premier League stadia and St. Georges Park. It is the college philosophy that learners should be exposed to specialists from the Sport and Active Leisure industry on a regular basis. Guest speakers are often present in class to enhance the learning experience.
Learners can progress to a Foundation Degree programme, a full Honours Degree programme or into employment.
Grades achieved at the end of the course can be converted to UCAS points for university. MM grade is equal to 64 UCAS points, DM grade is equal to 80 UCAS points, DD grade is equal to 96 UCAS points and a D*D* is equal to 112 UCAS points.
