An annual programme of tours complements the academic courses at Liverpool Football College. The extensive range of trips offered each year to all students stimulates and inspires them to achieve their full potential. Through these valuable learning experiences students not only broaden horizons by gaining an insight into other cultures, but also doors to potential careers are opened.
During the last five years over 200 young people have benefited from participation in tours around the world. For example, 54 students take part each year in the Dallas Cup, one of the most prestigious youth tournaments in the USA, and compete against international opposition, whilst sampling the American way of life in the Homestay programme.
Such life-changing opportunities are unique to Liverpool Football College. A second trip to Madrid is planned for 2018. Students stay at the Spanish FA headquarters, visit La Liga club training grounds, play friendly fixtures and coach local primary schoolchildren. A similar programme will also take place in Valencia.
Other tours have included Dubai, where the girls’ team played against the national U17 representative side. In Martinique local players welcome our students, who organise coaching and training sessions; we take full advantage of this visit by fulfilling the residential criteria of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Our extra-curricular programme is exceptional and cannot be matched by other colleges. It underpins our aim of giving the best for all who come to the College and supports our mission of “Achieving Excellence Together”.
